Active protection and cultivation are needed for medicinal plants

On May 15, the researchers from Institute of General and Experimental Biology, MAS, together with specialist from Ministry of Health and the officials from the police organizations have organized a joint seminar themed “Resource, use, protection and current challenges of Mongolian medicinal plants” to discuss about current situation on protection and use of medicinal plants in Mongolia.

In recent years, the illegal use of Mongolian medicinal plants, especially the use of rare medicinal plants, has increased rapidly and became one the serious issues to be cared together by the officials from the police and researchers from related plant fields. From this joint seminar, the recommendation for a legal use and protection of medicinal plants in Mongolia will be developed by the experts and delivered to the government.
